The traditional summer internship of students of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) has completed at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev (NNSTU).
For a month (June–July 2021) two groups of students — eight from each university — listened to the lectures, worked at the laboratories and the unique testing units available at the Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering and Applied Physics of the NNSTU.
In addition, the hosts prepared a special programme for guests from Belarus, which allowed them to get acquainted with the key areas of scientific research and life of the university, as well as see the sights of the city preparing to celebrate its 800th anniversary.
On the day of internship completion, the NNSTU Rector Prof. Sergey Dmitriev met with students of BNTU and BSUIR. They discussed the results of their work and their impressions of the month spent in Nizhny Novgorod.
Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University and the leading universities of Belarus — Belarusian National Technical University and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (all universities are members of the STAR-NET network) are bound by agreement on strategic cooperation, which is aimed on training personnel for nuclear power industry of Belarus, and also provides the consolidation of potentials of NNSTU, BNTU, BSU and BSUIR in the field of fundamental and applied researches. Over the years of partnership between NNSTU and colleagues from Belarus, a regular exchange of students’ groups, scientific and teaching staff has been established for training at the Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering and Applied Physics n.a. Academician F.M. Mitenkov.
