On 14 July 2017 the Second International Summer School on Engineering Computer Modeling has ended in the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.
It was organized by the Institute of Nuclear Physics and Engineering (INPhE) in cooperation with the regional educational network STAR-NET and held under the leadership of Doctor G. V. Tikhomirov. The School brought together Russian and foreign young professionals, postgraduates and undergraduates in the field of modeling of various physical processes and application of engineering codes.
During two weeks participants from Belarus, Czech Republic, Egypt, Jordan, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Romania, Russia and Ukraine got acquainted with the possibilities of mathematical modeling of physical processes, including the issue of multiple simultaneous physical phenomena modelling (multiphysics problem), learned about modern Russian engineering codes (MCU, FlowVision, Fidesys, LOGOS) and have developed skills in the use of engineering codes solving simple test tasks, individual for each program.
The Summer school also included visits to laboratories of the NRNU MEPhI and a sightseeing trip around Moscow.
Taking into account the growing popularity of the School and the positive feedback from the participants, INPhE plans to conduct the next school on engineering computer modeling in 2018.
