The participants of the 2015 WNU Summer Institute
On June 15, 2016 the Collaboration Agreement between the Regional Network for Education and Training in Nuclear Technology “STAR-NET” and the World Nuclear University (WNU) was signed by Mikhail Strikhanov, STAR-NET President, Rector of National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and Agneta Rising, president of the WNU, the World Nuclear Association’s Director General.

The Collaboration Agreement sets the framework for cooperation between two organizations in the area of nuclear education and professional training, related research and outreach in nuclear technology. The parties identified activities in which cooperation may be pursued:

  • collaboration in initiatives and efforts in nuclear education and training to provide nuclear professionals and university students with nuclear technology and soft skills including leadership and management;
  • participation in and support to WNU initiatives on nuclear education and training including the WNU summer institute, one week specialized courses, nuclear Olympiad and others, and
  • collaboration in the development and applying of innovative and modern educational technologies in nuclear education.

The Regional Network STAR-NET is established to promote, manage and preserve nuclear knowledge and to ensure the continued availability of talented and qualified human resources in the nuclear field in the countries, which educational organizations participate in this network, and to enhance the quality of the human resources for safe and sustainable use of nuclear technology.
